“A Thousand Pieces of You” by Claudia Gray. One of the problems with my vast list of TBRs is
that I forget why I wanted to read something. I guess someone said it was good?
At the start I found the present tense first person annoying probably because
of all the flashbacks, but it moved along well. I really appreciated that CG
had a rational reason why the main character was “special”. That seems rare to
me.
“Akira: Volume 3” by Katsuhiro Otomo. Every time I request something at the library, I’m
requesting one of these too. They count as a book each because I read Infinite
Jest.
“The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas. Another book I found stressful to read, but then I’m
not the target audience. There was a spot where I was thinking that wow, the
white characters sure were stereotypes, but that was on purpose?
