In Progress -- July 2017

Daily efforts (formerly 1 st draft) Read Vinterlys. Finished that short story and sent it out. Accomplishments (formerly Editing) uh... finished that story and sent it out? Connecting Critted 3 Got back 0  haven't actually posted anything lately so that's my fault. I did renew myself on OWW though.  Circulating 1 Knitting Ann Boleyn (1998).  Last month I was around the hips, knitting downward. This month 8 rows. Okracoke cardigan (Shirley Paden). Started the month with 16 inches. Now I have 23.5 inches of the back and just finished the decreases for the armholes. I'm still on the first piece after starting on boxing day, and this sweater literally makes me maudlin when I work on it. Nomia sock (Knitty SS 2017). Finished the second sock. Win! Slow Fade sock (Knitty FF 17). Started the first one. Great car project. Celtic Gang Girls of the 70’s (Rowan and me). Did first sleeve and started a second. Boy do I hate intarsia.

what I read, June 2017

a little late, but... “Hex” by Thomas Olde Heuvelt. Americana horror in translation from the Dutch? I have an irrational fear of all things in translation that I know is not fair. I suspect this is an Anglophone problem, and it’s lame. In my first sitting I read the first 55 pages, and went to bed stressed out. A lot of horror doesn’t really creep, and this did. I kind of wish I read Dutch so I could see what the original was like. Though the boy told me (I forced this on him) what happened, since he googled for it. And then we had a big conversation about how we would have done the ending differently. Basically I think once T

Connecting Critted 6 Got back 4 Circulating I won that contest I entered. Knitting Ann Boleyn (1998).  Last month I barely worked on this. This month 20 rows. Okracoke cardigan (Shirley Paden). At start of month I had 7.5 inches of back done.   Now it’s at 16 inches. I finished the first of five balls of yarn at half-way up the back and decided, especially since there's a hood and the yarn is going to be discontinued, I'd better order another ball. Sigh. Nomia sock (Knitty SS 2017). I was maybe halfway down the leg on sock #1 at the start of the month. These are on some rather short square needles, and I found the stitches fell off all the time! I finished that first sock and started the ribbing of the second.  Shell Tank (Knitting Nature by Norah Ga
